Before you say anything, yes I know summer is going to be over soon. The problem is I’ve been living in the moment this summer and forgot to share my favorite patios with you. Special thanks to the person that sent me a DM asking for this list and put the pep in my step I desperately needed. Consider this me asking for forgiveness, okay? 1. ShopBar

ShopBar is what patio dreams are made of. Located in the Original Highlands neighborhood, ShopBar has many different seating areas of different sizes so you can enjoy your time whether you’re with one friend or five. The best part? There is a boutique shop inside offering local, handmade, and vintage items for sale. This is not one you want to pass up.

Agave & Rye has only been open in Louisville since February 2020, but they’re no strangers to the game. With thriving locations in Covington and Lexington, they know exactly what they’re doing. If you haven’t had the luxury of trying their epic tacos, take this opportunity to enjoy them on their incredible patio right now. Run, don’t walk. You’ll thank me later.

ALEX&NDER is a beautiful hidden gem. This rooftop bar is located in the heart of Butchertown on the third floor of Copper & Kings American Brandy Distillery. They serve a solid list of unique cocktails & small bites, making it the perfect hang for you and your friends. Wait, did i mention it also has a killer view of the city? Well, it does. It can be a little hard to find, so be sure to enter through the courtyard or walkway to the right then take the elevator or stairs to the third floor.

Toasty’s Tavern, “where classy is a state of mind”, really lives up to that name. No frills needed when you hangout on this patio. With a delicious food menu and diverse drink menu, you’re bound to have a great time. This Shelby Park watering hole is affordable, welcoming, and wondering why you haven’t visited yet.

Gold Bar, located in the former Butchertown Social in the Butchertown neighborhood, is truly a hidden gem. This unique space has ever changing unique cocktails created with love and skill. On top of that, they have some of the best bar food you’ll have. This patio is one you need to spend your time on and you need to do it ASAP.

Chik'n & Mi holds a special place in my heart. I’m not going to sit here and say you have to go during happy hour, but honestly you really need to go during happy hour. Grab your friends, get that discounted wine, some chicken tacos & fries, and then come back to let me know how amazing it was. (i already knew it would be). Overall, the drinks are great, the food is great, and most of all the staff is great. See you there!

Nulu Marketplace is basically a hub of great businesses. They range from West Sixth Brewery to The Craftery, along with Emmy Squared Pizza, NuLu Sundae Club, and more. Pretty much, you can shop, eat & drink in one place with a patio courtyard to experience it all. Personally, I like to go with a group of friends & grab the food and drinks we want & meet back at our table. It’s pretty much the dream for friends with differing tastes. So anyway, you need to go okay.
